David Marquez says the rumors are true.
On November 7, WWE announced that NXT will move to The CW Network in October 2024. Previously, Haus of Wrestling reported that the NWA signed two television deals with The CW. Alongside the announcement about NXT, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that The CW Network had lengthy discussions with David Marquez's United Wrestling Network.
Johnson wrote that potential strategies were being rolled out, but plans changed when WWE came into the picture. The report noted that the idea had been for a weekly series live out of Los Angeles. Johnson wrote that it was unclear whether the concept would be shopped elsewhere.
David Marquez took to Twitter/X on November 15 and noted that people have been talking about him recently. He confirmed that he was in long negotiations with "the network," and he would not say anything else about it right now. Marquez asked everyone not to contact him for comments or to ask him to be on their show about this subject. He thanked everyone for their support and encouraged fans to come to the United Wrestling Network event on December 17.
In the post, Marquez included pictures in which he appears to be at the offices of The CW Network.
You are hearing my name on podcasts and reading my name in print. Yes it’s true, I was in long negotiations with the network and that’s all I’m going to say about it for now. Please don’t contact me for comments or guesting on your show on this subject. Thank you all for your… pic.twitter.com/sHwru8BsIt
