Velveteen Dream is heading to the Independent circuit.
EVOLVE announced that the NXT superstar will appear at upcoming EVOLVE events on Sept. 7 and Sept. 8. Dream will face former WWN Champion Austin Theory at EVOLVE 112 and Darby Allin the next night at EVOLVE 113.
Back in February, the Dream called out "Indy guys" in a now deleted tweet. The tweet read, "If I can shoot for a minute...I'm beyond irritated by the Indy guys coming into NXT, taking up spots, living out their dreams, pretending to be actual talent. Or as we put it "Superstars." I'm homegrown talent and I breed success on my own terms. Reactions prove it. Facts are Facts. If any one under contract has issue with "The Dream" is easy to find."
Dream will face Johnny Gargano next week on NXT television. Gargano made his name on the Independent circuit, particularly in EVOLVE, where he held to tag team titles. Gargano wrestled his last match for EVOLVE almost two years to the day Dream will make his EVOLVE debut.
