El Hijo Del Vikingo took to Instagram to reveal that he suffered a ruptured ligament and damaged meniscus during his match on February 17.

He will undergo surgery for the injury on February 29.

Vikingo is the reigning AAA Mega Champion, holding the belt for 818 days.

He is part of AEW and ROH television programming, last wrestling on the February 8 episode of ROH on HonorClub.

In a recent update, AAA provided an update on Hijo del Vikingo, saying that he underwent successful surgery and that there would be future updates regarding his injury and possible implications for the title. AAA stated the following:
