Vitor Belfort made a surprise appearance on the May 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, sticking by Mike Tyson's side in a brawl with the Inner Circle. Belfort was previously an audience member at AEW Double or Nothing.
Belfort has retired from the UFC, and though he's signed to ONE Championship, he has his eyes on pro wrestling as well.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Belfort discussed his cameo alongside Tyson and his potential future in wrestling.
"I never thought about it, but I'm really looking forward to jumping in and having fun in wrestling. I think I can bring a lot of value to the audience and do some cross-promotion. That was the first one. I really want to go out there and put on a good show for the fans," he said.
When asked if he would be returning to wrestling, Belfort said "hopefully soon" as he believes the cross-promotion is good for the audience.
Belfort was also asked about his relationship with AEW President Tony Khan.
He replied, "Tony is a good friend of mine and he's very smart. He's a true promoter in terms of sport. We're talking about a guy who has been growing up with his father owning soccer, football, major sports. I put wrestling, boxing, and MMA all together. When you start cross-promoting and bringing guys who are relevant and bring guys who have generation like myself. I have tons of generation and I'm still in great shape, I feel good."
It is unknown if or when Belfort will return to AEW. He is set to make his ONE Championship debut at some point against Alain Ngalani.
