War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) Become Number One Contenders To World Tag Team Titles On WWE Raw

The War Raiders want gold.

On the October 28 edition of WWE Raw, New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), the War Raiders (Erik & Ivar), and the duo of Rey Mysterio and Dragon Lee competed in a three way tag team bout to determine the number one contenders to the World Tag Team Championships.

The closing sequence of the bout was hectic, as Kofi positioned Dragon Lee for his tag team finisher with Xavier Woods. Instead, Woods got distracted with Rey Mysterio and ran across the ring to attack him. Woods missed and sent himself flying out of the ring. This allowed Mysterio and Lee to double-team Kingston, setting him up for a 619. Lee took advantage of the situation and wiped out Woods at ringside. Mysterio went to complete the 619, but Chad Gable pulled him out of the ring at the last second.

The War Raiders entered the ring and picked the bones of Kingston, squashing him with a springboard clothesline/german suplex combo for the victory.

It is currently unkown when the War Raiders will challenge for the World Tag Team Championships.

The current champions, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh, won the titles back on the June 24 edition of WWE Raw. Since then, the duo has only defended the titles one time, defeating New Day on the September 26 edition of Raw.
