Will Ospreay is used to getting "this is awesome" chants given his aerial display, but he hopes to hear a different roar from the crowd when he's wrestling.
Ospreay joined Booker T's interview series "The Indies" when the conversation turned to crowd chants. Booker praised Ospreay for getting the crowd to chant his name, which is tougher to earn than "this is awesome."
Ospreay replied, "I do think it's almost too easy to get the 'this is awesome' chant now because everyone is a freak athlete. Everyone is a freak. The one that I love is when they haven't got a chant and there are mind blown and they just cheer and clap and are like, 'we can't believe this is happening.' That's the one I go for these days."
Due to restrictions in Japan, the limited crowds can only make so much noise during NJPW matches.
Ospreay is currently sidelined with a neck injury, which forced him to relinquish the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. He said in the interview that he is still rehabbing and is looking forward to his return.
