Will Ospreay has done some soul-searching.
Will Ospreay defeated Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty in a classic match. However, there were concerns for Danielson's health after he took the Tiger Driver '91, leading to the match's final blow, Ospreay's Hidden Blade. Following the match, Ospreay immediately shelved the maneuver.
During the August 17 AEW Collision there was a video package discussing the move and its origins. The video also had quotes from Ospreay discussing how difficult it is for an opponent to protect themselves from the move's impact. Reacting to this video package on X, Ospreay has now said that Bryan Danielson's recent remarks about needing neck surgery are enough for him to stay away from the move permanently.
The fact that Danielson is gonna get neck surgery later this year and it stems from our encounter from Dynasty is enough for me to not wanna touch this move.

Every other move I have if you’re trained enough you can protect yourself.
There no way to protect yourself here. https://t.co/l9Hx0zorYg
Ospreay will next wrestle Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF, for the AEW American Title at AEW All In on August 25.
There were prior concerns about the move stemming from a match that Ospreay had with Kenny Omega at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023. Omega had confidence with regard to the safety of the Tiger Driver '91. Read his past comments here.
