Will Ospreay Says It's A Dream To Face Ricochet Again, Talks Potential Seth Rollins Bout

Will Ospreay wants to keep opening the Forbidden Door.

Ospreay is set to defend his IWGP US Title against Shota Umino at NJPW x STARDOM Historic X-Over and being the United States Champion in NJPW, he's looking to challenge himself against the reigning United States Champion in WWE.

"I've mentioned Seth Rollins' name many times, and he's approached me, so I have a lot of thoughts about it," Ospreay told Tokyo Sports when discussing potential dream matches.

Ospreay and Rollins infamously got into a Twitter war of words during the summer of 2019 that began with Rollins saying WWE has the best wrestling in the world and proclaiming himself as the best and most consistent wrestler.

During the back-and-forth, Rollins called Ospreay a "worse version of Ricochet." Ricochet and Ospreay had a series of matches before Ricochet signed with WWE with their standout match happening at NJPW Best Of The Super Junior XXIII.

"Also, considering my history, I think it would be a dream come true to fight Ricochet one more time. I think we've both become completely different wrestlers from when we fought in the past. I think we're at a turning point right now, and in the past I've talked with people from WWE about how it would be great if we could have a dream match in the future that transcends the boundaries of the organization. I don't think it's impossible, and I always want to test my own true ability," said Ospreay.

Ricochet most recently lost to LA Knight on the October 28 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Rollins successfully defended his WWE US Title against Austin Theory, who failed to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, on Monday's WWE Raw. Ospreay is coming off a win over Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Battle Autumn.
