Will Ospreay Set For ROH Debut

High flying British wrestling star Will Ospreay will make his debut for Ring Of Honor later this year, as part of the ROH excursion to the United Kingdom this fall.

Ring Of Honor announced the news earlier this week in an "ROH Update" video posted on the promotion's official website. Ospreay will be part of both of the ROH events in their "Reach For The Sky" tour in November.

The first leg of the tour is Friday, November 18, in Liverpool. The next night, ROH will be in Leicester. The tour concludes on Sunday, November 20, in Liverpool. Ospreay has been announced for the Friday and Sunday events.

Thus far 2016 has been a very big year for Ospreay. Signing a two-year contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling at the first of the year, Ospreay went on to win the Best of the Super Juniors 2016 tournament. Not only is Ospreay the first British wrestler to win the BOSJ, he also became the youngest wrestler ever to win the tournament.

Given the working relationship between NJPW and ROH, it is not a huge shock to see Ospreay stepping into an ROH ring. However, there is an extra twist to the story considering that, earlier this summer, Paul Heyman surprised Ospreay by offering him an EVOLVE contract during one of Heyman's one-man show performances in the UK.

During the tourney, Ospreay had a match with Ricochet that quickly went viral on the Internet, even garnering mainstream attention and also sparking a significant amount of debate within the industry about whether all the high-flying and complex choreography of the match was detrimental to the business.

Incidentally, one of the most vocal critics of that match, Vader, will face Ospreay for Revolution Pro in England this Friday in London.
