William Regal has declared Blood & Guts as the only appropriate way to end the rivalry between the Jericho Appreciation Society and the fivesome of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, and Santana.
Following the chaos of Anarchy in the Arena at Double or Nothing 2022, the Jericho Appreciation Society arrived at AEW Dynamite on June 1 to gloat about their victory. However, it would not take long before Eddie Kingston interrupted Chris Jericho and brought with him William Regal. Kingston insisted that he still wants to fight Jericho and company and William Regal just had one thing to say, “BLOOD & GUTS!”

After this declaration, Jericho sent his henchmen to attack Eddie Kingston while Ortiz attacked Jericho from behind and cut some locks of Chris Jericho's hair. As a result, Chris Jericho said that if Eddie Kingston wants his Blood & Guts match, Ortiz first has to face Jericho in a hair vs hair match.

Later in the show, Blood and Guts would officially be announced for the June 29 episode of Dynamite from Detroit. So far, only Jon Moxley has agreed to officially team with Eddie Kingston.
Hair vs hair between Jericho and Ortiz will take place in two weeks on July 15th
