It happened a day later than originally advertised, but New Day faced Sheamus and Ridge Holland at WrestleMania 38.
The rivalry between the two sides began last month when Sheamus and Ridge absconded with Big E's ATV, destroying it in the parking lot. The following week, Sheamus would introduce a new member to his crew, Butch (formerly Pete Dunne). That same night, Big E sustained a broken neck following a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge. One more week later, Xavier Woods returned from injury and it was at that point that the WrestleMania bout was booked.
Unfortunately for New Day, who came out wearing gear that paid homage to Big E, it was Sheamus and Ridge who would emerge victoriously. Butch attacked Woods after the bell and had to be held back by his friends.

Sheamus & Ridge Holland (w/ Butch) vs Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods
The match began with Sheamus and Holland attacking Kingston and Woods. Kingston hit Holland with Trouble in Paradise, but Sheamus got Kofi out of the ring. Butch tried to attack Kofi, but Sheamus and Butch got hit with a jumping senton. Woods hit a low STO on Holland. Kingston jumped off the stairs, but Sheamus caught him with a Brogue Kick. Sheamus hit a Brogue Kick on Woods, leading to Holland hitting Woods with a Northern Grit for the pinfall win. Butch attack Woods, but he got pulled away from Sheamus before with the three wrestlers standing tall.
