The July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown broke some records.
WWE returned to the legendary Madison Square Garden with the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown, and as of a few hours prior to the show, the company nearly sold out the venue by distributing 13,597 tickets, per WrestleTix.
In a tweet after the show, WWE thanked the fans and announced that the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown was the highest-grossing WWE event ever at Madison Square Garden, which has hosted WrestleMania three times.
Additionally, WWE announced that the show was the highest-grossing domestic edition of SmackDown in WWE history. .
