WWE Confirms Rey Mysterio Will Be Sidelined 'Several Months' Following Knee Surgery

WWE confirms extent of Rey Mysterio injury.

On Friday's WWE SmackDown it was confirmed that Rey Mysterio would miss "several months" after undergoing knee surgery.

Mysterio took to social media on Tuesday to say that he has undergone successful knee surgery.

Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling, reported Mysterio is expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks following knee surgery. The report stated that Mysterio had been working through a torn meniscus for about three months.

Mysterio last wrestled at WWE Crown Jewel, losing the WWE United States Championship to Logan Paul.

Last Friday on WWE SmackDown, Santos Escobar turned on Mysterio and the LWO, kicking the steel steps into Rey's leg to explain his injury on television. Rey was helped to the back by other members of the LWO.
