The Miz and Rey Mysterio did battle on the WWE Elimination Chamber Kickoff.
The feud between the two began when Miz felt slighted by Mysterio being chosen over him for the cover of WWE 2K22. From there, a war of words commenced, with Miz even suggesting Rey isn't Dominik's father. Rey would subsequently cost Miz his match against Dominik, though the A-Lister would return the favor, helping the Alpha Academy defeat Rey and Dominik on Raw.
During the match, Dominik assisted his father by making sure Miz couldn't run away. He would, however, at one point get too involved and was tossed from ringside by the referee. The Miz would try and capitalize by hitting a Skull Crushing Finale, but Rey was able to counter and roll up Miz for the pin and win.
After Miz tried to attack Rey after the bell, Dominik came to his father's aid and together hit a 619 and frog splashes on a downed Miz.
