WWE files trademarks related to its second-longest-running weekly episodic television show in history.

On May 31, 2022, WWE submitted an application with the USPTO to trademark "SmackDown" for a wide variety of merchandising purposes.

SmackDown started as a weekly television show in 1999 and in the past two decades, it has gone from a taped network series on UPN to a live cable network series. now WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on one of the premier networks, and all the broadcasting, FOX. Mark For: SMACKDOWN trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; bandanas; championship trophy belts.
