WWE returns to Pittsburgh.
WWE announced that WWE Payback will take place on September 2 from the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- WWE (NYSE: WWE) today announced that WWE Payback will take place Saturday, September 2 from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. It marks the first premium live event to emanate from Pittsburgh in five years. WWE Payback will stream live exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and WWE Network everywhere else.

WWE used the WWE Payback event name beginning in 2013 and it became an annual event through 2017.
The last WWE Payback event was held in 2020 and was headlined by Roman Reigns winning the WWE Universal Championship in a triple threat match against Braun Strowman and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt to kick off his historic reign.
