WWE Provides Update On Dexter Lumis' Ankle Injury

Dexter Lumis' ankle injury is reportedly worse than expected, according to WWE.

This past week on NXT, Lumis suffered an osteochondral lesion of the talus (an ankle injury) due to the targeted attacks by Timothy Thatcher. Lumis, Thatcher and Finn Balor competed in a triple threat match last week with Lumis winning and qualifying for the NXT North American Title Ladder Match at TakeOver XXX.

From WWE:

WWE Digital has learned that the severity of the ankle injury suffered by Dexter Lumis is worse than previously reported.

In last week’s NXT Injury Report, it was revealed that Lumis had suffered an osteochondral lesion to the talus after a grueling battle with Finn Bálor and Timothy Thatcher for a North American Championship Match opportunity.

Lumis won the bout, but the growing severity of his ankle injury has raised some questions around Lumis’ status for the North American Championship Ladder Match at TakeOver XXX.

Lumis joins Bronson Reed as the only confirmed competitors for the ladder match. Tonight's episode of NXT will feature another triple threat match with Ridge Holland (making his NXT TV debut), Damian Priest and Oney Lorcan all competing to qualify for the ladder match.
