Kevin Owens is in rough shape after being thrown off of the ThunderDome stage.
The January 1 episode of SmackDown saw Kevin Owens defeat Jey Uso in the main event. The action, however, didn't stop there. Owens handcuffed Uso to the ropes and proceeded to beat him up, taunting the Universal Champion. When the fight spilled into the digital crowd, Reigns attacked. Unfortunately for KO, things did not end well. The table he hoped to put Uso through quickly became his own landing spot, as he was launched from the platform to the floor.
WWE released the following injury update on Kevin Owens to their website:
"After the attack by Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Jey Uso on Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin Owens was taken to a local medical facility where he was diagnosed with a spinal contusion and bruised kidneys.
Check back with WWE.com for more updates as they become available."

Owens lost two Universal Championship matches recently, first at TLC and then again the next week on SmackDown in a Cage Match. The Tribal Chief had ample assistance from Uso on both occasions.
Paul Heyman appeared on Talking Smack on New Year's Day, calling Owens mediocre and saying that he wants more ambitious opponents for Roman Reigns in 2021.
