Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with a special video package for tonight's special throwback edition of Smackdown on FOX.
- We get a video packagte recapping the main event of the very first night of Smackdown in 1999 where Triple H defended his title against The Rock with the help of Shawn Michaels.
- We go to the ring as Universal champion Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, and Jey Uso make their ways out to the ring before we get a recap of Roman defending his title against Daniel Bryan who was banished fron Smackdown as well as the subsequent attack by Cesaro. Roman talks about defending his title as well as having a patronizing moment of silence for the end of the career of Daniel Bryan who has left the company ast of last weekend. Jey's brother Jimmy comes out to the ring and they're interrupted by Cesaro who is attacked from behind by Seth Rollins ahead of their match later tonight before Teddy long comes out and says that their match later tonight will be up next instead and it will be a number one contender's match before Seth attacks Cesaro as we go to commercial.

Seth Rollins vs Cesaro
Seth beats Cesaro down in the corner as soon as the match starts as Jey and Jimmy look on from ringside before Seth dumps him out of the ring and sends him into the barricade and the apron before rolling him back inside for two as Roman and Paul watch from the locker room. Cesaro comes back with a delayed suplex before rocking him with uppercuts in the corner and turning him inside out with a discus clothesline for a deep two count before Jey gets on the apron and distracts Cesaro when he goes up top before Seth hits a superplex into a falcon arrow for a near fall as we go to commercial.
We come back to Cesaro in control of Seth, transitioning between submission attempts before countering a Curb Stomp and Seth hits a Black Magic kick for two before Cesaro drops Seth across the top turnbuckle and Seth hits a buckle bomb before Cesaro turns him inside out with a clothesline. Seth launches Cesaro over the top rope and down onto the floor before Cesaro hits the Neutralizer once they're back inside for the pin and the win.
Winner: Cesaro defeats Seth Rollins via pinfall to become the new number one contender for Roman Reigns' Universal title at Wrestlemania: Backlash.
- Baclstage Seth meets with Roman after his loss to Cesaro moments ago.
- Backstage Sami Zayn interrupts Teddy and Sonya before Teddy makes a match between him and The Undertaker before he remembers that he retired and Teddy makes a ten man tag match up next.
- In the locker room Roman meets with Jey and Jimmy before Jimmy says that he doesn't answer to Roman and won't be talked to like Roman talks to Jey before leaving and Jey goes after him to try and convince him to go along with Roman's wishes.
Ruby Riott (w/ Liv Morgan) vs Carmella
Ruby sends Carmella face first into the middle turnbuckle before hitting a uranage for two before Carmella comes back with a chekky nandos for two before Liv gets on the apron and Carmella boots her off of the apron before they exchange pin attempts for several near falls and Carmella submits Ruby with the Code of Silence for the win.
Winner: Carmella defeats Ruby Riott via submission.
- Bayley comes out to the ring and honors several former WWE Women's champions before Bianca Belair comes out and the two exchange words before Bianca attacks Batley and Bailey brings her down to the mat by her earring before stomping her and leaving.
- Backstage Jimmy and Jey talk backstage before Jimmy leaves Jey behind and Jey stares angrily into the camera.
Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rey Mysterio) vs Dolph Ziggerl (w/ Robert Roode)
Dom drops Dolph repeatedly before he regroups with Robert at ringside and Dolph rips Dom off of the apron before slamming him onto the floor and tossing him back inside before hitting another scoop slam and Dom counters a suplex into an inside cradle for the pin and the win.
Winner: Dominik Mysterio defeats Dolph Ziggler via pinfall.
Tamina (w/ Natalya) vs Reginald (w/ Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax)
Reggie tries to get out of the ring immediately before Tamina throws him int othe corner and Reggie flips off of the post and over Tamina before she superkicks him and Shayna knocks her off of the top as Nia pulls Reggie out of the ring for the disqualification.
Winner: Tamina defeats Reginald via disqualification.
- After the match Shayna and Nia attack Tamina and lay out Natalya when she tries to help Tamina.
Sami Zayn, Alpha Academy, Baron Corbin & Apollo Crews vs Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura, Street Profits & Kevin Owens
Montez and Chad start the match off before the heels isolate Montez until he gets the hot tag to E and Sami tags out to Baron before everyone pairs off and brawls at ringside as we go to commercial.
KO and Otis are in the ring as we come back from the break before Kevin drops Apollo with a wheel kick and tags in Shin who drops Sami with a leg lariat and everyone hits a move until Sami counters a Kinshasa and gets the blind tag to Baron before Baron pins Shin with The End of Days for the pin and the win.
Winner: Baron Corbin, Alpha Academy, Apollo Crews, and Sami Zayn defeat Big E, Shinsuke Nakamura, Street Profits and Kevin Owens via pinfall.
- We go to the ring to Roman, Jey, and Paul once again before Roman gets on the mic before he's interrupted by Jimmy Uso. Jimmy then goes to leave the ring after we see video from Hell in a Cell where Roman choked out Jimmy when he tried to rescue Jey in his title match against Roman when Roman was going to hit Jey with the steps before Jey tries to stop him. Cesaro then attacks Roman from behind out of nowhere before taking out Jey when he tries to help Roman as Jimmy looks on from the ramp before Jimmy attacks Cesaro and Cesaro lays everyone out before leaving the ring and celebrating as we go off the air.
