According to Programming Insider, WWE SmackDown on August 9 scored 2.269 million viewers. This number is up from the 2.179 million viewers the show scored on August 2. The number is down from the preliminary figures WWE claimed, which was 2.433 million viewers.

Friday's episode posted a 0.64 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic, which is up from the 0.60 rating from last Friday.

WWE SmackDown was preempted in some markets due to NFL Preaseason Football. The show also faced competition from The Olympics on NBC networks.
