Randy Orton is getting a championship opportunity.
During Smackdown, Bobby Roode has been issuing United States Championship challenges. While Randy Orton has been answering them, Jinder Mahal has been interrupting. Tonight Mahal beat Roode down and afterwards Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon discussed what should happen.
The two authority figures said they were not "on the same page" about the United States Championship among other things. But in the end, McMahon pulled rank and said Orton will face Roode for the championship at WWE Fastlane. Bryan did not approve of the decision.
