WrestleMania 38 will be a big boost to the Dallas-Fort Worth economy.
Dallas Morning News reports that the economic boost from WWE WrestleMania 38 in Dallas is projected to top $200 million. The number comes from Monica Paul, executive director of the Dallas Sports Commission. She said that estimate includes revenue from transportation, lodging, food and beverage, retail sales, business services and recreational activities.
The two-night event is expected to draw fans from 47 different states.
WrestleMania 32 in 2016 generated over $170 million for the region. WrestleMania 32 was a one-night event with an announced attendance of 101,763 fans inside AT&T Stadium.
WWE picked Arlington over 15 other cities in the bidding process. Arlington did “a marvelous job in hosting the WWE Universe, which helped to create a record-setting week and the kinds of outcomes that were unprecedented at the time,” said John Saboor, WWE executive vice president of special events. He cited Dallas-Fort Worth’s air access, its embrace of WWE and support from private and public stakeholders as key reasons for the event’s return.
SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California has already been tabbed as hosting WrestleMania 39. Fans can view the lineup for both nights of WrestleMania 38 at Fightful's events section.
