Xia Brookside Comments On Future In Wrestling, Tommy Dreamer Invites Her To IMPACT

Xia Brookside was released by WWE in August as it was announced NXT UK would be going on hiatus until January 2023 when NXT Europe would be launched.

Brookside, the daughter of Robbie Brookside, was signed by the company in 2018 and took part in the second Mae Young Classic tournament. She was active on the Independent scene before joining WWE, but has only wrestled a couple of matches since her release.

Appearing on Busted Open Radio, Xia commented on her future in wrestling.

"I was signed for four years. I got signed in 2018 and I was only 19 at the time. So much has changed since then. The Indies four years ago compared to now is a completely different ballgame. There are so many more females over here now as well. I'm just excited to get back out there and try new things. I have something big coming up that I'm not allowed to talk about, it's a surprise, but I'm excited. I want to work everywhere. I want to get back to what I was doing before I was signed, traveling, wrestling, getting to know new people, working with different people, and growing myself as a wrestler again. There are so many new styles out there," she said.

Speaking about her release, she commented, "At first, it was a bit of, 'Oh no, I'm getting married in July,' so I was planning that and it was 'what am I going to do?' But the love and support I've received from the fanbase has come back to me, they're reaching out like, 'where are you going? What are you doing next?' Wrestlers have reached out to me. I'm ready to hit the ground running."

When asked about a potential WWE return, Brookside said, "I don't feel restricted in any way. I know deep down in my heart that that door is still open. So it may not be now, it may not be next week, but, I know if I work hard enough, I can get back there."
