Zack Gibson Discusses Winning The United Kingdom Tournament After Missing The Last Tournament

Zack Gibson won four matches as part of the 2018 United Kingdom tournament in WWE.

Last year, Zack Gibson was not part of the United Kingdom tournament which crowned the first-ever WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate. He came back for the tournament this year and ended up the victor. He won the tournament on day one of the United Kingdom tournament event at Royal Albert Hall and unsuccessfully challenged the Champion Pete Dunne on day two.

WWE Files To Trademark 'RKO'

After he beat Travis Banks in the finals, he told reporters that the tournament will be something he will recant to his future grand children. Gibson said winning the second tournament made up for his mistake last year.

"There's a specific part of my heart that broke the day I missed out on the first UK tournament. I've never shied away from the fact that this is the job I want to do," said Gibson. "Everything I've done in my career was to get here and the mistake that I made last year was to get here. It caused me to miss out. Other guys on the same show as me who were tied up in contracts beat themselves up because they missed out on this," he continued.

The mistake he referenced was signing a nine month deal with ITV World of Sport before WWE had made the tournament official. He has spoken about this in previous interviews.

The full interview with Gibson can be seen at Inside the Ropes' YouTube channel or the video above.
