Zack Sabre Jr. Wins The 'Super Strong Style 16' Tournament

Coming off of winning the 2018 New Japan Cup and taking the IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada to the limit, the submission specialist from South East England has once again stood victorious in a tourney. Zack Sabre Jr. was a part of PROGRESS Wrestling's 'Super Strong Style 16' tournament.

On day-one of the tournament Sabre Jr. defeated Chuck Mambo and on day two he defeated David Starr. In the semi-finals two former PWG World Champions in Keith Lee & Zack Sabre Jr. took the fight to one another to determine who would be heading to the finals of the 'Super Strong Style 16'. Sabre Jr. was able to best the big man and the next test that awaited him came in the form of current NXT star Kassius Ohno.

 

Zack Sabre Jr. emerged victorious and along with the honor of being the winner of the 2018 'Super Strong Style 16', he also earned himself a future shot at the PROGRESS World Championship. The SPLX-sponsored athlete got on the microphone shortly after his victory and announced that on September 30th inside of the 'Wembley Arena' which will be the biggest independent wrestling show in the U.K. in 30 years, he will be challenging for the PROGRESS World Title.
