WWE Backlash 2017 Results: Jinder Mahal Wins The WWE Title!

This is the Fightful.com live coverage for WWE Backlash! Tonight we have a great show as in our main event Randy Orton will defend his WWE World Championship against Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens defends his WWE United States Championship against AJ Styles, we also have the in-ring debut of Shinsuke Nakamura and much more so be sure to come back here at 8PM EST for all of the action!

Bandido Confirms He Suffered Concussion At ROH Final Battle

Tye Dillinger vs Aiden English

They lock up to start the match after mocking each other, then Tye goes for the ten punches in the corner, but Aiden gets out of the ring, then chop blocks Tye from behind. English then stomps on Tye and mocks him as we go to commercial. 

English stomps on Tye as we come back from commercial until he puts him in a rear chin lock, Tye getting to his knees only for Aiden to hit him with a series of knees. Aiden puts Tye back in the rear chin lock before Tye rolls him up for a quick two count, then Tye comes back and drops him repeatedly. Tye goes for the Tye Breaker, but English ducks out of the ring, then misses a leg drop before Tye misses a splash. English misses a swanton before Tye hits the Tye Breaker for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tye Dillinger via pinfall

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Dolph Ziggler

They start the match with grappling, then lock up for a clean break before they exchange wrist locks and straight armbars. Shinsuke mocks Dolph, the hits him with a series of knees before hitting the Good Vibrations in the corner. They get back in the ring and Dolph hits a neckbreaker before raking at the eyes of Shinsuke, putting him in a side headlock afterwards. Shinsuke fights out, but Dolph turns him inside out with a dropkick for a quick two count, then trash talks Shinsuke before he's dropped with a spinning kick. Shinsuke hits a series of punches and kicks before hitting the running double knees in the corner. D

Dolph counters a reverse exploder, but Shinsuke puts him in a triangle choke. Dolph gets free and hits a DDT for a near fall, then Dolph rolls him up for a quick two count before hitting a famouser. Dolph misses a superkick, but hits the Zig Zag for a near fall before Shinsuke drops Dolph with an axe kick, then Dolph superkicks the back of the neck of Shinsuke. Shinsuke hits the reverse exploder, then hits the Kinshasa for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura via pinfall

The Usos vs Breezango WWE Tag Team Championship Match

The Fashion Police mock the Usos, including Tyler using a mop, but Jey drops him with a right hand, then breaks the mop. Every time Jey goes for a splash Tyler rolls away before Fandango gets the tag and the Usos double team him in their corner. Fandango counters a sunset flip, then hits a leg drop for a quick two count before Fandango tags Tyler in who's dressed like an old woman. Jey kicks the cane away before dropkicking him repeatedly, then he comes back and hits a bronco buster before Jimmy misses a splash in the corner. Fandango gets tagged in and drops both Usos repeatedly before hitting a leg lariat for a quick two count.

Fandango hits a DDT for a near fall, then tags in Tyler before Tyler has Jimmy accidentally superkick Jey for a near fall. The Usos send Tyler into the barricade and over into the crowd before Fandango takes them out by flipping over the top rope. They get back in the ring and Jimmy grabs the foot of Fandango when he's on the top rope allowing Jey to superkick him for the pin and the win.

Winner: The Usos via pinfall

Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin

They lock up to start the match for a surprisingly clean break, then exchange wrist locks before Corbin beats Sami down. Sami tries to fight back, but Corbin puts him in a bear hug, but Sami fights out of it, only for Baron to put him back in it. Sami gets out again and sends Corbin over the top rope before Corbin hits a massive spinebuster for a quick two count once he gets back in the ring. Corbin drops Sami with a right hand before playing to the crowd, then Sami comes back with a clothesline that drops Corbin. Sami hits a diving cross body off of the top rope for a quick two count, then Corbin turns Sami inside out with a lariat for a near fall.

Corbin hits a chokebreaker for another near fall, then sets Sami on the top rope before fights back and hits a sunset flip powerbomb for a near fall of his own. Corbin counters a tornado DDT and an exploder suplex before Sami gets a near fall off with a back slide, then Corbin gets a near fall off of a Deep Six. Corbin stomps on Sami before Sami sends him through the ropes, Corbin right back in, but Sami hits the Helluva Kick for the pin and the win.

Winner: Sami Zayn via pinfall

-We then get a video package for Austin Creed playing Rocket League. Next we have Jinder arriving to the arena before he's interviewed about the title match tonight.

Becky Lynch,Charlotte & Naomi vs The Welcoming Committee

Becky and Tamina start it off with Tamina showing off her strength, tossing Becky around the ring, then Natalya gets tagged in and Becky gets a quick two count from a roll up. Charlotte gets tagged in and does a cartwheel before Natalya takes her down by her hair, then Charlotte comes back with a running knee drop and a boot that drops Natalya. Carmella distracts Charlotte allowing Natalya to attack her from behind before the heels start tagging in and out and doing a few moves each time, keeping her isolated in their half of the ring. Charlotte fights out of a headlock only for Carmella to slam her back by her hair for a quick two count, then they take turns smashing each others faces in the top turnbuckle. Naomi gets tagged in and drops Carmella repeatedly before hitting a dropkick in the corner, then Tamina distracts her.

Carmella capitalizes by stomping Naomi repeatedly, then hits a bronco buster for a near fall before Tamina gets tagged in and puts her in a headlock. Naomi fights out of it only to get dropped with a clothesline, then Carmella tags back in before they start tagging in and out again at a near rapid pace. Naomi takes out both Carmella and Natalya before she jumps to tag Becky, but she's pulled off of the apron at the last second. Becky finally gets tagged in and hits a reverse exploder suplex into a running forearm in the corner for a near fall. Becky counters a sharp shooter with a Disarmer, but everyone gets in the ring to break it up, then Natalya locks in the sharp shooter on Becky for the tap and the win.

Winner: The Welcoming Committee via submission

Kevin Owens vs AJ Styles WWE United States Championship Match

They lock up to start the match before Kevin ducks out of the ring, AJ chasing him before Kevin gets back in and they Kevin beats AJ down. AJ misses a dropkick, but connects the second time before Kevin comes back and puts AJ in a rear chin lock and a headlock before AJ powers out of it only for Kevin to hit a DDT. Kevin gets a quick two count before hitting three sentons for another quick two count before putting AJ in another headlock. AJ comes back with an enzuigiri, but Kevin is first to his feet before AJ hits him with a series of strikes into a clothesline, AJ following up with a sliding forearm for a quick two count of his own. AJ hits Kevin with more clotheslines, then a sit-out facebuster for a quick two count. 

Kevin comes back with a superkick and a pump handle neckbreaker before Kevin hits a stunner in the ropes. AJ catches Kevin on the top rope, then Kevin counters a Styles Clash off of the apron, sending AJ' s leg into the ring post and sending him into the steps. Kevin puts AJ back in the ring and hits a cannonball in the corner before wrapping the right leg of AJ around the ring post before hitting a cannonball to it, kicking in an ankle lock afterwards. AJ gets to the ropes, then AJ hits a powerbomb off of the top rope when Kevin tries to put him up on his shoulders. AJ gets caught up in the ropes when he goes for a Phenomenal Forearm, then Kevin hits a DDT for a near fall before slapping AJ repeatedly.

AJ hits a Pele kick before collapsing to the mat, then gets back up and beats on Kevin in the corner before AJ suplexes Kevin on the apron. AJ hits a running forearm off of the apron before the match ends in a count out.

Winner: Kevin Owens via count out

Luke Harper vs Erick Rowan

Rowan goes right after Luke as soon as the match starts, beating on him in the corner before Luke fights back with a series of right hands only for Erick to send him to the floor. Erick hits Luke with a baseball slide that sends him into the barricade, then whips him into the barricade before putting him back in the ring. Erick gets a quick two count before putting Luke in a headlock that he fights out of, then Erick hits him with a series of choosing the corner before playing to the crowd. Luke fights back only for Erick to clothesline him in the corner and dropkick him for a quick two count. Erick slams Luke repeatedly, then hits a pump handle neckbreaker for a near fall.

Erick misses a splash off of the top rope, then rolls out of the ring to regroup, only for Luke to send him over the barricade with a clothesline. Luke dives into Erick through the ropes once he's back at ringside, then drops him with a clothesline for a quick two count. Erick rolls out on to the apron, then Luke hits a spinning uranage for a near fall before Erick counters a sit-out powerbomb with a powerbomb of his own for near fall. Erick beats on Luke in mount before they exchange strikes, then Luke hits a series of thrust kicks into a discus forearm for the pin and the win.

Winner: Luke Harper via pinfall

Randy Orton vs Jinder Mahal WWE World Championship Match

Randy goes right after Jinder before the match starts, sending him out of the ring and over the announce table while hyping up the crowd. Randy beats on at ringside before rolling him back in the ring, then Jinder huddles up in a corner while talking to the Singhs at ringside to regroup. Jinder uses Randy's aggression against him after sending him out of the ring, Jinder rolling out of the other side before Jinder sends him into the led board. They get back in the ring and Jinder takes control, keeping Randy grounded with a dropkick and a series of shoulder locks and head locks before Randy comes back and just throw a Jinder down to the mat. Randy does his signature jumping stomps and hits a series of European uppercuts before Jinder hits an arm breaker out of no where.

Randy back drops Jinder on the announce table before sending him over it again and rolling him back into the ring. Jinder is ready however and he starts stomping Randy before putting him in an arm triangle before Randy eventually gets to his feet and fights out of it. Randy sends Jinder shoulder first into the ring post, then Randy hits a superplex, lifting Jinder from the apron to the top rope and slamming him to the mat for a near fall. Randy hits Jinder with a series of strikes before dropping him with a series of clotheslines into a powerslam. Randy hits his signature backbreaker into the draping DDT before Jinder rolls out of the ring when he feels an RKO coming.

The Singhs get killed by Randy before Jinder sends him shoulder first into the ring post repeatedly, then Randy hits an RKO, but the Singhs pull Jinder out of the ring. Randy hits them with a double draping DDT before Jinder attacks Randy from behind and hits the Khallas for the pin and the win.
