Bellator MMA Veteran Arrested For Alleged Bank Robbery

TMZ Sports is reporting that Bellator MMA veteran Sergio Da Silva has been arrested by Queens, New York police officers for robbing a bank.

The fighter was arrested this past Thursday (8/31) and is currently sitting in prison at this time.

According to the report by TMZ, the fighter jumped over a glass counter and made it to the teller area, which is where he stole an alleged amount of $50,000 from Citibank.

Police officers were eventually able to identify Da Silva due to fingerprints found at the scene. The fighter also told tellers that he hand a gun and would use it, but no gun was used during the robbery.

In an interesting twist to the story, the police arrested Da Silva at his home, which is on the very street of the bank that he had robbed.

Da Silva I innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, it is unknown at this time exactly when the potential trial would take place.

During his fifteen fight MMA career, the fighter fought some top names like Alptekin Ozkilic, Aljamain Sterling and others. Da Silva’s last MMA fight before his criminal turn took place at Bellator 180, where he suffered a third round submission loss to Matt Rizzo.
