There's still bad blood between Billy Corgan and Impact Wrestling.
PWInsider reports that the new owner of the National Wrestling Alliance, as well as the frontman for the band Smashing Pumpkins, appeared on Howard Stern's radio show recently. When asked if he was still in the pro wrestling business, Corgan said that he was now involved with the NWA.
When Stern brought up his run with TNA/Impact Wrestling, Corgan explained why he was no longer there, saying that "they tried to steal my money" and that he was fired after three months because "the $1.8 million I invested wasn't enough." He then said that he got his money back following a settlement and had moved on to the NWA.
Corgan joined TNA in 2015 as the Senior Producer of Creative and Talent Development, then became president of the promotion in August of 2016. He left a few months later in November, following disputes over money owed by TNA's parent company Anthem. He later took TNA to court over the issue in an attempt to take over the company, which was settled later that month with him leaving.
Despite all of that, Corgan has been open to working with Impact on the new version of the NWA, which is planning on running shows this spring.
