John Cena Trashes Miz And Maryse, Calls Miz "Softer Than A Shoe Full Of Baby Crap"

Big Match John made sure that Talking Smack lived up to its name last night.

John Cena threw some harsh words at The Miz and Maryse in advance of their upcoming match at WrestleMania 33. Cena and his real-life significant other, Nikki Bella, will face the husband-wife tandem of Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag match as part of the April 2 card in Orlando.

Four-Way Match Added To AEW Full Gear: Zero Hour

Cena referred to Miz as "softer than a shoe full of baby crap" and someone that would fail to "crush a grape in a fruit fight."

Cena acknowledged he had been entertained by some of Miz's antics mocking he and Nikki. The latest example of that was on Tuesday's Smackdown, when Miz and Maryse portrayed the rival WWE power couple in a "lost" episode of Total Bellas. Cena called it The Miz's best work.

"So dude, you've got seven days," Cena said. "I know what you're going to come up with is going to be good because I'm low-hanging fruit. I'm an easy target because I've been taking it on the chin for a decade. I'm still here moving forward, because that's what I do. The words 'Rise Above Hate' are what you would call a catchphrase. That doesn't exist with me, everything you see me wearing means something to me and it means something to those who identify with me."

Cena has long been a polarizing figure among WWE fans -- who either love the 16-time champion or love to boo him.

"You're on the wrong side of the fence," Cena added. "I've been dealing with that my whole life. Here's the thing. If you're good at something, you're going to tell everybody. If you're great at something, they'll tell you. Your tip of the cap to us tonight was your way of letting us know we're great."

Talking Smack regularly blurs the line between storyline and reality, to great effect--in particular, the verbal jousting between Miz and Smackdown general manager Daniel Bryan.
