Colby Covington says Tyron Woodley is a fake and training with "fairy tale shit."
Colby Covington and the UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley have been sharing words over the last few months. Originally Covington said Woodley lacked fortitude and Woodley said Covington was all talk. In an interview with Fightful MMA's James Lynch, Covington was asked if he received any backlash since he and Woodley are both associated with the American Top Team gym. Covington said it was a non-issue.
"There's no backlash because he trains at Roufus Sport. Yea, he has an ATT affiliate but that's because he had an investor who put the money into the gym for him and it just made sense to make it an ATT affiliate because that can bring in money for him. But at the end of the day, he's at Roufus Sport," said Covington.
Covington also expressed his distaste for the inner workings at Roufus Sports.
"You see what he's doing. He's training with Roufus, He's in his corner. He's got Anthony Pettis and CM Punk, all this fairy tale shit. At the end of the day, I'm not getting any comments because Woodley is a fake," said Covington.
Woodley has not been scheduled a fight at this time. But, Covington has been preparing for his fight at UFC Fight Night 119 against Demian Maia who was the last man Woodley defeated.
Fightful MMA will be providing live coverage of Covington's fight against Maia and the rest of UFC Fight Night 119.
The rest of the interview can be seen on Lynch's YouTube channel.
