CWF booker and commentator Brad Stutts is out the door of CWF Mid-Atlantic.
As reported this morning in our fight-size update, CWF Mid-Atlantic posted a tweet last night indicating that Stutts was let go for what they called "inappropriate behavior."
After the tweet was issued, CWF wrestler Aric Andrews took to Twitter to reply to some of the inquiries associated with the move.
One person in CWF Mid-Atlantic supplied us this anonymous statement, saying that the situation wasn't a surprise, and seemed to hint that it may have been coming for a while.
CWF is a family. An action this severe would not have been taken without absolute necessity. A lot of people are making assumptions based on the vagueness of what's been released, and because it seems so sudden to fans. But to the people who work for the company, it is not exactly sudden or surprising. Just know that it was the right decision that had to be made, and that CWF will continue to flourish despite this. He may have been the booker of the company but the people in the back are the ones who have made CWF what it is, and that will not change.
Since our story first published, we've learned that many (including Cain Justice, Caleb Konley, CL Party, John Skyler) have been withdrawing from Modern Vintage Wrestling due to the situation as well, which also involves Charlie Armstrong of Gimmick Tree Entertainment, who owns MVW. CWF Mid-Atlantic doesn't have any ties to MVW, but Armstrong is facing the same set of circumstances as Stutts. Members of the CWF roster aren't being forced to leave Modern Vintage, but several have on their own accord.
Modern Vintage Wrestling have pulled their planned 1/20 show, and Stutts has stepped down as booker. He'll also not have any affiliation with Gimmick Tree Entertainment and Nova Pro Wrestling.
CWF Mid-Atlantic released additional tweets about the matter Monday afternoon.
Fightful has attempted to what caused ties between the two sides to sever. CWF Mid-Altantic operates successfully in the North Carolina area, and their weekly show airs on their Youtube channel, featuring Impact Wrestling mainstay Trevor Lee.
