Daniel Bryan Wants His Documentary Released

WWE is allegedly sitting on a Daniel Bryan documentary.

On the Sept. 21 episode of Talking Smack, host Renee Young and SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan did the SmackDown post-show per usual. But Bryan dropped a bit of a surprise. About midway through the show, he said that a documentary about him leading up to WrestleMania 32 was being held by the company.

“Speaking about taking opportunities, I’m going to take an opportunity right now. I want everybody to know that I have been held back. And what I mean by this is that we did a documentary building towards my WrestleMania 32 match that never happened. WWE refuses, absolutely refuses, to release this documentary. It’s like those banned books that are too controversial to release. Like everything else in my career, I’m asking the people, I’m asking you guys to demand that they release this documentary,” Bryan said on Talking Smack.

Bryan asked viewers to use the hashtag #ReleaseTheBear to show their support and push WWE to release the documentary. He ended his tirade by pounding his fists on the Talking Smack table and chanting “Release The Bear,” with Young eventually joining in.

While Bryan and fans wait for the documentary to be released, there are other documentaries about the former WWE Superstar that exist. WWE: Daniel Bryan: Just say Yes! Yes! Yes!, released in June 2015, follows Bryan’s journey to WrestleMania 30 and winning the WWE Championship in the main event. WWE 24: Thank You Daniel, released earlier this year, shows Bryan on the Feb. 8 episode of RAW, when he announced his retirement from in ring competition, as well as other career moments.
