The main event is set for this October’s Bellator 185 card as UFC veteran Gegard Mousasi makes his promotional debut against former middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko.

Mousasi (42-6-2) is going to be making his aforementioned Bellator MMA debut and he does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Mousasi is also a former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion and the 2008 DREAM Middleweight Grand Prix winner. Mousasi hasn’t suffered a defeat in just about two years, as his last loss came to Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night 75.

Shlemenko (56-9-0-1NC) is returning to Bellator MMA for the first time in just over a year, as his last promotional appearance came at Bellator 162. Shlemenko is also a former Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion, defeating Maiquel Falcao to win the gold at Bellator 88. Shlemenko enters the fight riding a six fight winning streak, which includes a win over former Bellator MMA Middleweight Champion Brandon Halsey.

In the co-main event of the evening, it is going to be a light heavyweight division clash as King Mo takes on former light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary.

Bellator 185 takes place on Friday, October 20 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Gegard Mousasi and Alexander Shlemenko headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Spike TV.
