Now that Jim Ross is back in WWE calling special matches, one match that Ross really wants to call is Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe.
Ross recently appeared on the Busted Open radio show on SiriusXM and professed his love for the brawl between Lesnar and Joe on Monday Night RAW. Ross predicts their match will be a classic and good ol' J.R. has thrown his hat into the ring for calling that match at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view in Dallas, Texas.
“I’m never going to say they need to do this, or that or what is right," Ross said. "Those two guys are going to have a lot to say about their presentation in Dallas. I also believe these two guys are alpha males. They’re going to bring the other their best. There’s going to be lockups that are going to make some people leave wrestling school. So I believe Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar is going to be a classic. I really do. I love what they did (with their brawl on RAW). It’s a big deal because Lesnar could not do his usual offensive plan on Samoa Joe. I believe it's going to be a great match. I've lobbied to call it, like a goof. From Oklahoma to Dallas, I can be there in two and half hours. If you’re a broadcaster, and you can do that game, that match, that fight, you’re damn right I’m in. "
Ross returned to WWE to call Roman Reigns’ win over The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 and even called the WWE UK Championship match between Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: Chicago.
Great Balls of Fire will be headlined by Lesnar vs. Joe for the WWE Universal Championship and will take place on July 9.
