JBL Comments On AEW Programming Running Opposite WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, 'I'd Move It. This Isn't WCW'

JBL thinks AEW would be best suited not to run opposite WWE programming.

AEW runs AEW Saturday Collision every week. However, sometimes AEW ends up running against WWE PLEs or special events like the revitalized WWE Saturday Night's Main Event series of specials.

Asked about the head-to-head competition on the latest episode of the Something to Wrestle podcast, John Bradshaw Layfield said that if it was his call, he'd move any opposing show because WWE is so far and above any competitor.

"I'd move it. This is not WCW. You don't have Goldberg, you don't have Hogan. No offense, [AEW has] some great stars. Kenny, Omega, [Jon] Moxley, Cope/Edge/Adam Copeland, you got some great stars, but WWE is the machine. WWE is, by far, the 800-pound gorilla. It's not equal competition, because WWE is so much bigger. I would move it, absolutely," he said.

Layfield further suggested that WWE would be stacking up the event on January 25 like a WrestleMania. While the runtime of the next WWE Saturday Night Main Event won't come close to a modern WrestleMania, they have booked "Mr. WrestleMania" Shawn Michaels for the event in his hometown.
