Before joining the roster a few weeks ago, Kalisto was always a fan of the cruiserweights. Well, everyone except one guy, at least.
Kalisto spoke to Bleacher Report about his newfound status as champion, as well as a member of the cruiserweight roster as a whole. It took a while for him to be a part of the roster, but he said in the meantime he was a big fan of the product, and didn't matter if he was a part of the roster or not.
"I'm a big fan of the 205 Live show. If I was part of it or I wasn't, I would watch it," Kalisto said. "It gave me more of a chance, as a fan, to see what they can all do."
When he did eventually make it to 205 Live, Kalisto was immediately put in a program with Enzo Amore over the cruiserweight title. The night that he won it was certainly special, especially considering it wasn't in the plans to win the title. He also thanked those that came before him.
"What a special day," Kalisto said. "It was on the birthday of Eddie Guerrero, one of the great Latino inspirations of all time. Rey [Mysterio] and Eddie, they're one of the reasons I'm here, They opened doors for luchadors like me to step foot in the WWE ring."
When it comes to the former champion, who he will face at WWE TLC for the title, he doesn't really sweat him, saying he only brought one thing to the dance.
"The only thing that I believe he brought to 205 Live was his catchphrases" he said. "How long is that going to last? It's going to get old. It's going to get boring. And people are going to know, that dude can't go. It's just a matter of time."
Kalisto won the title a few weeks ago on Raw when Neville walked out, leading to big changes on that nights show where Kalisto would become champion, leading to a rematch tonight at TLC.
