A welterweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming UFC 218 card as Abdul Razak Al-Hassan is in action against Sabah Homasi.
Al-Hassan (7-1-0) has won just one of two fights under the UFC banner, defeating Charlie Ward and suffering a defeat to Omari Akhmedov. Al-Hassan has also competed once in Bellator MMA, defeating Bryce Shepherd-Mejia by first round knockout at Bellator 143. Al-Hassan has only seen just one of his professional MMA fights go the distance and that came against the aforementioned Omari Akhmedov at UFC Fight Night 109.
Homasi (11-6-0) is currently winless thus far in UFC competition, having dropped a bout to Tim Means by second round TKO at UFC 202. Homasi also won just one of three fights in the Bellator MMA promotion, with that lone victory coming over Eric Moon at Bellator 124 in September of 2014. Homasi hasn’t seen one of his fights go the distance in well over five years, with his last fight to go all three rounds coming against Jose Caceres at Championship Fighting Alliance 7.
UFC 218 takes place on Saturday, December 2 from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
