Alex Ricci Steps In To Fight Paul Felder

MMA

Paul Felder needed an opponent at next month’s UFC 208 event after original opponent, Gilbert Burns, suffered an injury and now Felder has one in Alex Ricci. The bout has also been pushed a week back to UFC Fight Night 105, no reason was given for the event change.

Felder (12-3-0) has won four of seven fights under the UFC banner, with some notable wins coming over the likes of Danny Castillo, Josh Burkman and Daron Cruickshank. Felder is also a former Cage Fury Fighting Championships Lightweight Champion, he relinquished the title upon signing with the UFC in 2014. Felder also held a championship as an amateur fighter, as he held the New Breed Fighters Lightweight Title in 2009, but he lost it before turning pro.

Eight Biggest Upsets in MMA in the Last Year

Ricci (10-4-0) is current winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Jeremy Kennedy at UFC On Fox 21. Ricci also fought once under the Bellator MMA banner, having defeated Alka Matewa by second round TKO at Bellator 47. Ricci was 0-2-0 against UFC veteran prior to signing with the promotion last year, dropping fights to Jesse Ronson and Darrell Horcher.

UFC Fight Night 105 takes place on Sunday, February 19 from the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada with Derrick Lewis and Travis Browne headlining.
