Anderson Silva is fighting Uriah Hall next weekend in the main event of UFC Vegas 12 and the bout will serve as the final for his professional MMA career.
The former middleweight champion recently confirmed that the bout against Hall will be the final of his professional MMA career.
“This is the last fight,” Silva told MMA Junkie. “For sure, this is the last fight. Probably. I love the sport. I’ve prepared my mind for this. I’ve prepared for fight my entire life, but yes, this is my last fight in UFC.”
Silva’s professional MMA career has lasted over 23 years, beginning with a first round submission win over Raimundo Pinheiro at Brazilian Freestyle Circuit 1 in June of 1997. One thing Silva admits is that he’ll miss the training for a fight when his career comes to an end.
“I think (I’ll miss) the training (the most),” Silva said. “Preparing my mind, preparing my body. This I think is most important and I feel sad because I don’t have this anymore. This is the last one.”
