A light heavyweight division attraction is going to be headlining UFC Fight Night Lincoln as #3 Anthony Smith faces #9 Glover Teixeira.
The UFC Twitter page announced the bout.
Smith (33-14-0) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Rashad Evans, Mauricio Rua, Volkan Oezdemir and Alexander Gustafsson. Smith has previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to Jon Jones at UFC 235. Smith is going to be headlining his fifth straight UFC card, holding a 3-1-0 record in those last four encounters.
Teixeira (30-7-0) enters the contest on a three fight winning streak, defeating the trio of Karl Roberson, Ion Cutelaba and Nikita Krylov. Teixeira has also previously challenged for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, losing to the aforementioned Jones at UFC 172. Teixeira has picked up thirty wins as a professional MMA fighter and seventeen of them have come by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Lincoln takes place on Saturday, April 25 from the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska with Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
