The vacant Cage Warriors Bantamweight Title is getting a new owner at Cage Warriors 84 as Nathaniel Wood faces Marko Kovacevic in the main event.
Wood (10-3-0) is currently undefeated under the Cage Warriors banner, having defeated the duo of UFC veteran Vaughan Lee and Steve McCombe. Woods also competed once in the Bellator MMA promotion, defeating Chase Morton by third round submission at Bellator 158. Wood will also enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in just over a year.
Kovacevic (9-1-0) is going to be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight and he will do so while riding an eight fight winning streak. Kovacevic has only seen two of his ten professional MMA fights go the distance and that fight happened nearly two years ago. Kovacevic also made his professional MMA debut in the Pancrase promotion, where he defeated Fouad Mesdari by first round submission with an arm bar.
Cage Warriors 84 takes place on Friday, June 2 from The 02 in London, England with Nathaniel Wood and Marko Kovacevic headlining. The event will be airing live on UFC Fight Pass and Fightful will provide quick results when the show is completed.
