Brandon Royval Steps In At LFA 53, New Interim Flyweight Champion To Be Crowned

Legacy Fighting Alliance Flyweight Champion Maikel Perez has suffered an injury and has been pulled from LFA 53, replacing him against Casey Kenney is Brandon Royval and the duo will now battle for the vacant LFA Interim Flyweight Title.

Kenney (9-1-1) has won two of three under the LFA banner, having defeated the duo of Kendrick Latchman and Roman Salazar. Kenney also competed twice on Dana Whites Tuesday Night Contender Series, defeating CJ Hamilton and suffering a defeat to Adam Antolin. Kenney has seen his last five fights go the distance and it has been almost two years since the fighter got a finish.

Royval (8-3-0) enters the contest while riding a three fight winning streak, which includes victories over the trio of Demetrious Wilson, Jerome Rivera and Charles Johnson. Royval hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over a year, with that last loss coming to Nick Urso at LFA 10. Royval also competed once in the World Series Of Fighting, defeating Danny Mainus by first round knockout at the WSOF 29.
