Brian Ortega has new swag heading into UFC Fight Island 6.
Ortega returns to the Octagon on Saturday night in the main event of UFC Fight Island 6, facing the "Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung in a featherweight firefight. Prior to his Octagon return, the fighter has teamed up with California-based streetwear brand Illest for a new apparel line.
The line — which features Ortega’s coach in Rener Gracie as one of the models — boasts t-shirts, hoodies and other types of apparel. Some of the gear features Ortega’s name on it, as well as the term “Illest” and other phrases.
This move by Ortega is one similar to that made by other UFC fighters crafting their own identity outside of the promotion. The UFC currently has an apparel sponsorship deal with Reebok, which comes to an end early next year. Afterwards, Venum brand will take over as the official apparel partner of the UFC.
