Bryce Mitchell is back in action this weekend at UFC Fight Night Nashville, facing Bobby Moffett in preliminary card action.

The fighter was seriously injured after a power tool injured his scrotum, which almost killed Mitchell in the end.

“I think if people saw how close I was to dying, they probably wouldn’t ask me about it,” Mitchell said to MMA Junkie. “The truth of the matter is, your nuts get ripped off, you fall off a 20-foot ladder, you’re (expletive) dead. I don’t got no neighbors; I’m (expletive) dead. I should be dead. God or whatever was watching over me that day, because it could have been way worse.”

Mitchell has kept a sense of humor about the whole situation, having kept a level head in his first bout since the incident.

If there is one thing that Mitchell knows, it’s that the incident is something that will always be talked about.

“I think people are always going to talk (expletive) about it,” he said. “I guess I can’t blame them. Maybe some people will forget about it. Probably not, though.”

UFC Fight Night Nashville takes place on Saturday, March 23 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee with Stephen Thompson and Anthony Pettis headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
