Former UFC title challenger and current Bellator fighter Cat Zingano is suing actress Halle Berry after she apparently promised the mixed martial artist a role in her latest movie and didn't follow through.
This is according to a report from TMZ who obtained Zingano's lawsuit. The 39-year old former Octagon veteran claims that she met with Berry in July 2019 to star in a role for an upcoming film project the actress was directing called "Bruised." The UFC shortly after offered Zingano a "big fight" that she claims Berry advised her to pass on if she wanted to be in the movie.

The lawsuit continues to state that Zingano went on to pass on the fight offer from the promotion in order to do the film, which ultimately led to her being released by the UFC. She then claims that Berry left her in shock and in dismay when the Hollywood starlet told her she could no longer be in the movie because she wasn't a UFC fighter anymore and that the studio only wanted to work with active UFC fighters.
Zingano continues on to claim that Berry has cut all lines of communications off to her and that she's suing the actress for damages, ultimately believing her unfulfilled promise of a film role cost Zingano her job in the UFC. Berry's team has yet to comment on the situation and her MMA-inspired movie "Bruised" will be released on the Netflix streaming platform on November 24.
