A featherweight division attraction has been announced for UFC 232 by the UFC as #5 Chad Mendes is going to be in action against #11 Alexander Volkanovski.

Mendes (18-4-0) has won just two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those losses coming over the duo of Ricardo Lamas and Myles Jury. Mendes has thrice before challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title, losing to Jose Aldo twice (UFC 142 & UFC 179) and Conor McGregor (UFC 189). Mendes has fought just once in the last two-plus years, as he was serving a suspension for a failed drug test.

Volkanovski (18-1-0) enters the contest on the strength of a fifteen fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in over five years. Volkanovski has already picked up five victories under the UFC banner, with two coming by KO/TKO and three coming by way of decision. Volkanovski has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Corey Nelson at Australian Fighting Championship 5.
