UFC President Dana White recently stated that there are other interesting options for Jorge Masvidal, outside of fighting UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.

However, it appears that the comment was taken out of context by many, as White has chosen to clarify his stance on Masvidal.

“No, the Usman fight is the fight that makes sense,” White said on The Menace & The Man Show podcast (via Nolan King of MMA Junkie). “It’s the fight that needs to happen if Masvidal wants a title shot. But there’s another interesting fight out there for him right now.”

There were rumors that Masvidal could fight Usman soon, but Masvidal himself said that the UFC didn’t meet his price for a the fight.

Another big fight for Masvidal would be against former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and White says that bout is also a possibility.

“(That’s a) very good point (Masvidal vs. McGregor on Fight Island),” White said. “That’s a possibility, too.”

Masvidal and Leon Edwards remain the only fighters ranked in the UFC Welterweight Division top five to not hold or challenge for the UFC Welterweight Title.
