Conor McGregor and Dana White’s relationship turned sour recently when the fighter leaked private DM’s between them and White believes McGregor may have done it to steal some of Israel Adesanya’s thunder.
McGregor's leaks came just before UFC 253, which Adesanya headlined, and White says McGregor always does something like this before a big event.
“This was a weird one,” White said to Sports Illustrated. “This was weirder and different than anything he’s done before. There’s almost a pattern here. When we’re about to do a massive fight — and Israel Adesanya broke a ton of records last week in a global, massive fight — the day before that fight, he starts announcing he’s going to fight this guy and that guy. It’s almost like stealing Adesanya’s thunder. But, he does it every time there’s a big fight.”
The relationship between the two may be getting a little better, as White says he offered both McGregor and Dustin Poirier the chance to face each other for a second time.
