In December of 2014, a deal was reached by the UFC and Reebok for $70 million that saw Reebok become the official fight kit supplier for the promotion, meaning that the UFC’s fighters would have to wear fight gear put together by the clothing company.
That deal will come to an end next year and UFC President Dana White hints that either Nike, Under Armour or Venom could be the next clothing line to get that deal.
“Obviously I can’t tell you that,” White said on The Schmozone Podcast (via Harry Davies of Bloody Elbow). “Yes, one of the three.”
The deal was a controversial one for the fighters under contract to the UFC, as the promotion disallowed fighters from wearing other sponsors logos on the Reebok gear, with very few exceptions. Some fighters like former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Paige VanZant received individual sponsorship deals from Reebok, but the majority of UFC fighters were left in the dust on that matter.
There has been no statement yet from Nike, Under Armour or Venom about a potential deal with the UFC.
