Dana White Says Conor McGregor Will Get A Lightweight Title Shot With UFC 246 Win

Former two division UFC champion Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone are meeting tonight in the main event of UFC 246.

UFC President Dana White is stating that McGregor will get a rematch with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov with a victory at UFC 246.

“He gets what he’s been waiting for,” White said on The Jim Rome Show (via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “He gets what he’s been asking for. He has been chomping at the bit for the Khabib rematch. I think it’s no big secret.”

White has made similar statements in the past, which was strongly refuted by the UFC Lightweight Champion.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov first met back at UFC 229 and White says the potential rematch could be the biggest UFC pay-per-view event in history.

“If he wins this weekend, he will get that shot at the title and it will be the biggest pay-per-view ever in UFC history,” says White.

UFC 246 takes place tonight from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
